A Time to Care
A Time to Care
A Time to Care…
“This is what the kingdom of God is like: a man scatters seed on the ground… and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.”
Mark 4:26–27
I haven’t been the best at caring for plants. I have witnesses to my many, sadly unsuccessful, attempts to keep them not just looking nice, but alive.
One of the many times I said that every plant I touched died, the Holy Spirit interrupted me and reminded me of something essential: my essence as a woman is to give life. And today I realize that if He lives in me, then life is what I can generate, because He is life.
So far, I haven’t succeeded… and I mean in caring for plants. It’s not really my thing. But I do give life in other ways.
A few months ago, I was praying for that word that would sustain me this year, the anchor that would keep me centered. That’s when the Holy Spirit reminded me of something I’ve shared with you before: the seasons of life are continuous and are not determined by a calendar.
And He told me that this season was a time to sow. To sow seeds of dreams, of projects, of callings we carry, as individuals and as a family.
And the question returned: How far can you see?
Now here’s the curious part. With great clarity, the idea settled in my heart to plant a seed from scratch, to grow a plant from the very beginning, as a prophetic act that would reflect what we were doing on the inside.
Oh my… this was a much bigger challenge. It wasn’t about caring for something someone else had already planted and watched grow. It meant finding the soil, the seeds, learning how to plant them, understanding what they needed, caring for them until they grew, and someday, bloomed.
And you know what? We did it.
With some fear, with a bit of hesitation… but we did it. We’ve already seen the first sprouts. And then I understood something even deeper: this is not a time to produce, but a time to care.
To care for the dreams God has already planted within us. To care for the seeds He placed in our hands. To care for the place, the soil, and the season where He chose to plant us.
Because He has already sown. And when that is true, there is no pressure to bear fruit immediately. There is an invitation to remain, to tend, to protect what is quietly growing.
I hope to show you the process and enjoy it with you. Because it’s beautiful to know that God gives you personal seeds, assigns you specific ground to plant them, and invites you to watch them bloom.
And it’s just as beautiful to understand that you and I are also seeds He plants. That He places us in the perfect soil to grow and flourish.
Perhaps today your task is not to produce, but to care.
Do not underestimate what you have today. Do not underestimate who you are today. Do not despise the place—the soil—where you are being planted.
God is the best teacher when it comes to caring for what will later bear fruit.
